The Duggans are distressed after hearing the bad news yesterday that Dan is being moved today, again! He was told to pack up his cell and will be sent back to Lithgow Correctional, where he was previously held in solitary confinement before being sent to Macquarie in June last year.
Please continue to support the Duggans, in any way you can as the battle for Dan’s freedom is still ongoing: https://freedanduggan.org/help-the-cause/
At Macquarie, Dan shares a cell with other inmates rather than being isolated in solitary, which was the case when he was in Lithgow. At Macquarie, Dan also has access to a computer which is an essential item for him to help with his ongoing legal defence. Macquarie also has longer visiting hours meaning Saffrine and the kids could spend more time with Dan face-to-face. At Lithgow, family visits were 1 hour maximum.
Facing moving back to Lithgow again with the isolation, the trauma, the upheaval, is creating more unnecessary stress for the family and for Dan himself. This all, during what already is horrible, ongoing nightmare poses more questions for Dan -will he be going back to solitary? Will he be able to access the necessary tools for his defence? Will he have the small freedoms afforded to him like in Macquarie?
This is the fifth move Dan's had to endure whilst being incarcerated, since he was first arrested over three years ago, back in 2022. He was originally sent to Bathurst, then Silverwater, one of Australia's most infamous jails, then he was sent to Lithgow, then to Macquarie and now back to Lithgow.
