Today Dan’s twin sons, Rory and Finn, turn 18 without their dad. Another significant family milestone tragically missed.
It’s a big year for the boys to be without their male role model. They are both studying for the HSC and coming of age.
From prison, Dan wished the boys a happy birthday via a card, but it’s not the same as him being there in person.
An Australia citizen and father of six, their dad, Dan, has been locked in the maximum-security isolation for 16 months without having been charged in Australia.
He’s now at Lithgow Correctional Centre - second only to Goulburn prison in severity in NSW.
Dan is in a 2x4 metre concrete cell for at least 22 hours a day,
