Today marks 12 months since Dan, an Australia citizen and father of six, was thrown into solitary confinement. He has no local charges and no criminal history. His incarceration and persecution is based on 12 year old, unproven allegations from a foreign power.
It is the most “terrible of anniversaries” for my family. An act of violence and cruelty. Dan's case is an appalling abuse of Human Rights and Australian sovereignty. It has been carried out under a cruel and unjust extradition treaty that removes our basic rights as citizens.
This photo was taken by Dan a year ago today before driving the kids to school. Not long after he was kidnapped by the Australian Federal Police and thrown into a dry cell. It took more than 60 days before they even told him what he was accused of.
Please join us on Monday in a peaceful demonstration outside the Downing Centre Court in Sydney at 9am. We will be demanding that Mark Dreyfus end this torture of Dan and my family, and set Dan free immediately. #EnoughIsEnough
