Hello my name is Michelle Whitman inmate#55624177. In 2017, I was convicted of offenses related to counterfeit government securities sentenced to serve time in federal prison. Since my incarceration, I have served half of my allotted sentence. This petition is an urgent plea for clemency, not only because of the time I have already served but due to the personal and familial circumstances that weigh heavily on my heart. 

I am a mother who is desperately needed at home. My son, who has been under the guardianship of my elderly mother, requires my care. While my mother has been a beacon of hope for us, her advancing age of over 70 is making it increasingly challenging for her to maintain this role. Our family dynamic is strained, and the stress on my mother is palpable. 

In addition to these pressing familial needs, I am also a breast cancer survivor, currently in remission. During my time in prison, I have focused on rehabilitation and education, and I am determined to reintegrate into society as a positive and contributing member. The duration of my incarceration has taught me invaluable lessons, and I am eager to apply these insights in my future endeavors.

The circumstances surrounding my case, coupled with my current health and familial responsibilities, underscore the necessity for clemency. I humbly request the support of others to facilitate my return home, to resume my responsibilities as a mother and to alleviate the burdens on my ailing mother.
