Always be respectful, even if the person on the other end of the line doesn’t seem supportive (they’ll probably just be neutral, ask for your name and zip code, the number of the bill, and that will be all). An example script of what you can say: “Hi, my name is ___________. I’m a California resident and I am calling to voice my strong support for AB 2138. I’m asking you to please support the bill in the upcoming committee vote. All Californians deserve the right to work and to start a business. This will help our economy and reduce crime and recidivism rates. Thank you for your yes vote in support of AB 2138.” We only have until Monday at 1PM to make at least 250 phone calls in support of AB 2138.
