Our new mayor has taken an aggressively anti-street safety stance in the early days of his administration. So far he has: 

–  Fired David Fields, Houston's Chief Transportation Planner, who was instrumental in making the 11th Street improvements, 
–  Ripped out the new improvements on Houston Avenue, against the wishes of Mario Castillo, our city council member, 
–  Announced there will be no further work done on street redesigns to improve safety.

Mayor Whitmire has indicated that 11th Street will be in his sights next, putting at risk the safety improvements we all fought so hard for.

Tell Mayor Whitmire how important safe and inclusive streets are in our neighborhood, and that the 11th Street redesign has been a huge success.
