Our neighbor Barbara painted a pole at the corner of 6th and Irving with ascending stars and then labeled it "Reach for the Stars." Many of us in the neighborhood find this mural attractive and inspiring and enjoy looking at it as we pass by and go about our day. It adds to the unique and distinctive feeling we have about the Inner Sunset neighborhood.

San Francisco has declared that since the pole is public property the mural is not allowed and must be painted out. We, the undersigned, want to save the mural and call upon our district Supervisor to intervene.

The mural is due to be destroyed on April 12 unless the process can be suspended and an opportunity created for neighborhood sentiment to be voiced.
