Did you know that bosses at major UK supermarket Farmfoods have abandoned their promise to stop keeping hens in cruel cages?
This makes Farmfoods the only major UK supermarket without a promise to stop caging hens.
The situation is urgent: unless bosses reverse their shocking decision, over 100,000 hens will be forced to spend their lives standing on wire-mesh floors in dark, hellish cages. Meanwhile, George and Eric Herd, the father and son leaders of Farmfoods, will continue profiting from cruelty.
The thing is, we’re winning the battle to end cruel cages. Thanks to compassionate people like yourself, over 80% of hens are now free from cages in the UK. And, when frozen food giant Iceland tried to back out of its cage-free commitment a few months ago, pressure from thousands of animal lovers like you swiftly forced bosses into reinstating their commitment.
The progress we’ve made for hens in the UK makes it all the more shocking that Farmfoods bosses are clinging on to cruelty and holding the country back. We’re so close to 50,000 signatures on the petition - will you add your name now and demand better from Farmfoods?
