Fellow animal lovers,

There's a new critical opportunity to take action in the campaign to improve chicken welfare at Morrisons. You may have heard that the supermarket is being bought out by US Private Equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice.

CD&R are big money; they are expected to spend £63million just on lawyers fees for the transaction. And with money, comes power.

A couple of months ago you all kept Morrisons' phones ringing off-the-hook about chicken welfare, so let's do the same for their new owners and make sure they know what they need to do!

Call CD&R London on 0207 747 3800. Tell them that as the new owners of Morrisons, they need to use their power to address the terrible suffering of 'FrankenChickens' sold at Morrisons. No animal should be bred to grow so fast, even its own body can't keep up. It's time for Morrisons to sign up to the improved standards of the Better Chicken Commitment, which eliminates the use of fast-growing FrankenChickens.

  • CD&R might tell you their London office is not dealing with this, and you need to phone New York.
  • UK consumers shouldn't have to phone New York about a UK company, so ask that they pass on your complaint anyway.
  • Don't forget, if we inundate their phone lines, there is no way we won't be heard!
  • If you are based in the US, or would like to call the NY office you can do so on +1 212 407 5200

Thank you for standing together for the chickens. Please comment below and let us know how your call went!
