Recently we received the exciting news that, by the end of next year, Marks & Spencer will only sell fresh chicken that meets the Better Chicken Commitment!
M&S was the first retailer to make the commitment back in 2017, promising to make the vital changes to chicken welfare by 2026.
Now it's brought the date forward, committing to complete the move by autumn 2022. If M&S can improve the lives of chickens years ahead of schedule, what excuse is there for Morrisons to refuse to even commit?
Well, there isn't one.

The decision-makers at Morrisons need to understand that M&S' commitment is shedding a very public light on Morrisons' failings.
Send an email to Morrisons CEO, David Potts, and his team, and tell them they can't keep making excuses.

I'm sure you've heard the good news that Marks & Spencer, who signed up to the Better Chicken Commitment back in 2017, have brought their fulfilment date forward. This means that, by the end of next year, M&S will only sell fresh chicken that meets the Better Chicken Commitment!
You've probably seen the extensive praise M&S has received for this, and I for one will be opting to shop at a retailer which shows its commitment to chicken welfare.
Now that it's clear to the public that it's more than possible for supermarkets such as yourselves to make this move, will you be following M&S' lead and doing right by the chickens and your customers alike?
The M&S news really does show that Morrisons has no excuse to not make a full commitment, so I really hope to see you signing up to the Better Chicken Commitment imminently.
