Today we emailed Superintendent Jesus S. Aguirre our Change petition with our 500 signatures thus far gathered and our comments. We will continue in the next weeks to send our comments and signatures of this petition to other city officials. A few weeks ago Aguirre removed the “pause” he had placed on the SAAM expansion and has now officially approved of SAM’s plans for the expansion. The Volunteer Trust have also approved the expansion. SAM has yet to get approval for the expansion from the Landmarks Preservation Board (LPB). Please email your thoughtful letters to LPB at Erin.doherty@seattle.gov asking the Landmarks Preservation Board to protect our Landmarked Volunteer Park and Landmarked Building from the proposed expansion. This fight is not over yet... and this petition is finished. There are still some things we can do with your support. Thank you all.
