Hello supporters! I met with our District's Superintendent, Dr. Mendivil today. He informed me that since the last public forum, he has observed classrooms, met with teachers as well as administrators, and attended a gifted education conference. Changes are forthcoming to support gifted education at every Tempe Union High School. A gifted academy is still in the works for Mountain Pointe. The District is considering off-setting some of the cost for teacher training in gifted education, and they will also work to support students who score just under the 97% CoGAT score.  

I appreciate Dr. Mendivil for investigating this issue and for being willing to make gifted education accessible and equitable for our TUHSD students.  I am closing this change.org petition as a victory for us all. Again, I thank you all for your support. Our children are our future, and your support will continue to reverberate in our school district!
