I have amazing news to share! We had a meeting with Sonia Singh (Editorial Director & President of the Ethics committee at NDTV). She was extremely kind, receptive and concerned about the the issue of mental health and insensitive suicide reporting. Ms. Sonia assured us that NDTV is working on suicide reporting rules based on the WHO guidelines which will be rolled out this week. She even agreed to work with us on doing a news feature on the need for sensitised media coverage of suicide to spread awareness among people and news outlets across the country. I'm in awe of the kindness & responsiveness expressed by the NDTV family and I'm very thankful. Also, words cannot describe the gratitude to each of every one of you who signed my petition. Thank you for turning this little attempt into a great victory. It would have been impossible without you.
