Darold Thompson. To some he was just the guy who swiped your card at the dining hall, but to me, and many others like me... he was a friend. He turned casual dining at a state school cafeteria into an experience everyone wanted to be apart of. A staple among the student body population, Darold had a lasting impact on whoever he crossed paths with. Although he may not have known it, Darold inspired others like myself to set goals to better themselves, and to put the work in to achieve those goals, no matter how hard the road ahead would be. May he live on in our dreams, and in the name of the dining hall he made his own.

We propose naming the dining hall, or at the least a section of the dining hall, after our friend Darold. Although he may not have known it, he touched the lives of many of us. He deserves recognition for the time he dedicated to the student body, and we feel this is the most appropriate way to honor his legacy.
