The Maleny Council is currently considering a proposal for a motorcycle road race to take place in Maleny and surrounding streets and roads in December 2017. This will take place over 5 days and involves professional motorycycle riders leaving from the Maleny High School at thirty second intervals before turning down Tallowwood St then Centenary Drive and out onto Stanley River Rd, which becomes Boorobin Road; left onto Kilcoy-Beewah Road; left onto Bald Knob Road; left onto Landsborough-Maleny Road (Route 23); left onto Mountain View Road; right onto McCarthy Road; left onto Bunya St and cross the finish line (also the start line) adjacent to the Maleny High School. As you know, a lot of those areas are built up and have children, pets and wildlife who occasionally roam the streets. There will also be limited access to properties along the route and nearby areas. If you have concerns or would like to hear more about the proposal there will be two meetings at the Maleny High School this coming Tuesday 14th at 10:30am and 6:30pm. If you can’t make it to the meetings you can email the council officer handling it Geoff.Peters@sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au So people who cannot go please email Geoff Peters and tell him why this is such a great idea!
