Media profoundly influences social norms and culture. But while mainstream media has espoused its dedication to reporting responsibly on the climate, one of the largest contributors to the crisis—animal agriculture—has been largely ignored in its coverage and recipe curation. Register for a webinar on Sept. 8 at 11 am ET to help media report more responsibly for climate and animals!

Better Food Foundation's new report, "Recipe for Success: How Climate-Conscious Media Should Nudge Readers Toward Plant-Based Recipes," produced with support from Sentient Media, examines the recipe sections of eight mainstream US and UK media outlets to determine whether they have embraced their unique opportunity to model climate-friendly eating to their readers—or if, like in mainstream climate reporting, they’ve neglected to address the planetary harms of factory farming. The report then offers five simple strategies, part of an approach called DefaultVeg, that these papers can use to apply their sustainable values to their recipes.

Join BFF's webinar on September 8 to dive into our findings and hear insights from experts on media and food, including Food Network champion Priyanka Naik, journalist and advocate Bel Jacobs, Sentient Media's Managing Editor Jenny Splitter, Better Food Foundation's Senior Director of Campaigns Laura Cascada, and Plant Based Treaty's communications director Nicola Harris.

When: Sep 8, 2023 11:00 AM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
