Hermit crabs are wild animals who can live for 30 years in their natural habitat -- but at Sunsations, after being ripped from the wild, they are sold in crowded, barren cages and then sent home to tourists with little more than a plastic palm tree and some gravel. Deprived of everything natural to them like warmth and humidity, many will suffocate to death or succumb to the toxic paint on their shells in mere months--just a fraction of their normal lifespan.

A Plight of the Hermies investigative video recently found cages littered with broken limbs from stressed, sick crabs and even a crab who had already died inside a Sunsations store.

It's time to make sure Sunsations hears the 50,000 people who have signed this petition loud and clear: Hermit crabs belong in their native tropical habitats, not in cages being sold as souvenirs!
