As a signer of the original petition to Summit County Council to simply say NO to Dakota Pacific's proposal to build 1,100 new housing units at Kimball Junction, you know that our community has fought tirelessly to prevent this high-density development from overwhelming the area and cause further traffic problems on SR-224.

It is now time to show up and learn if the County Council has been listening to us and if their new proposal makes sense!

Specifically, the Summit County Council and Dakota Pacific have scheduled a public hearing on their new plans:

🗓 When: Thursday, November 7th, 5:30 - 7:30 PM
📍 Where: Newpark Resort, 1476 Newpark Blvd., Park City, UT
🔗 Virtual Option: Join via Zoom (Zoom: https://zoom.us/j/772302472 or Dial in: 301-715-8592 - Meeting ID: 772 302 472)

If you care about the outcome of this long fight we need a massive turnout at this meeting to make it clear to the County Council that our community still cares deeply about this issue and that we are only supportive of a plan that properly mitigates the increased traffic and environmental impacts and provides real community benefits.

Next steps:

  1. Plan to Attend the Public Hearing at 5.30PM on Thursday, November 7th @Newpark Resort (add it to your calendar now you are at it!)
  2. Show Up Early! We expect an overflow crowd, so plan to arrive well before 5:30pm.
  3. Spread the Word! Forward this email, post on social media, and encourage other Summit County friends to join.
  4. Listen carefully to the County Council's presentation and decide for yourself if the new plans make sense to you
  5. Ask questions and voice any concerns you may have at the hearing. Every statement counts!

The time is NOW to remind the Council who they serve. Let’s listen and learn and then make our voices impossible to ignore!

Thank you for your continued support and passion for the greater Park City community!

P.S. To learn more about the latest proposal and the County's timeline for approving this project see this Park Record article.
