We Have Moving Parts!

Hello all, First off, wow. Thank you so much for the support. We now have contacts with people all over who are working toward the same goal, and the collaboration is definitely reaping rewards. If nothing else, we will be able to meet as a group somewhere and celebrate life together that night, because of the community we have created. I don't want to share anything prematurely, as nothing is promised and every step has been "it will be difficult, but let me talk to x." But let me tell you, we have far surpassed my expectations. The short of it is, we have made contact with someone who is on the same level as and works closely with the property manager of Riverbend and PNC Pavillion, and this contact supports the idea 100%. We have been told to give it a day for a response, but I am aware even if they entertain the idea it is a long road still. We also have contact with a person in the media who has asked us not to run around to everyone else in the media; we expect to hear from them today about what their organization wants to do. This organization is one that typically runs these sorts of things, so having an ally in that corner to help poke the venue is monumental to us. We also have had the support of a person from AFSP from the start, and that person has been updated with our status. We have our hands in other things as well, but it is much too soon to even touch on those other things. Because of the uncertainty, our next steps are talking with some of the sponsors of the venue (think food and beverage, if you know people in these companies give them a ring!) and then talking with potential other venues that would be interested in hosting this event as a public event. I also will be working on a poster/flyer that we can print off and post in local music spots that will link people to this petition. I am not so skilled in this area, so if anyone has the time, passion, and skills, feel free to make one up and post it in the discussion here!
