The Issue
On June 11, 2020 our beloved Austin was killed due to a tragic car accident on 58 and Snowden in Suffolk, VA. Austin’s battery died at approximately 12:30am. Due to the lack of shoulders on the roads he was stuck in the middle of the road. The lack of visibility due to the time of day it was caused a terrible accident. The inability for the other driver to see Austin could have been prevented if Highway 58 was well lit. Austin is not the only one to pass due to this poorly lit area. We DEMAND that the City of Suffolk lights up 58 in order to prevent another person from losing their life.
