New Extinction Official Servers [10-man with Offline Turret dmg Increase]
The Issue
Problem
The new ARK DLC "Extinction" had a rough launch, full of unbalanced dinos and items as well as game-breaking bugs that made the experience disappointing for a lot of players.
Entire bases being wiped, unbalanced meks that let tribes raid bases with hundreds of turrets in minutes, titans that damaged your dinos through your bases and could infinitely spawn-trap people in their own bases and a lot of other bugs and unbalanced dinos that made the DLC have a bad start.
Another big issue with ARK is offline raids and the game forcing tribes to play as much as possible to keep up with other tribes.
Solution
A lot of these issues are being fixed but it's unfortunately too late. The current servers are currently dying off at a fast pace because of the issues this DLC introduced and it's too late to save these servers. Tribes that got lucky enough not to be wiped by the mysterious patch that made people's bases disappear got a huge advantage over other tribes and anyone with a titan can easily snowball because of the removal of element veins.
These new servers would function in a similar way to the current smalltribes server but with a few small changes that would make a huge difference in the gameplay and feel of ARK.
These servers would have the following changes, as well as using the ruleset from the current smalltribes servers:
- 10 people per tribe (would make people not feel forced to play and 10 people is a great middleground between smalltribes and Conquest)
- Offline Turret Damage Increase (2.5x damage increase when a tribe is offline would make offline raiding a lot harder and make online raiding more appealing. Right now there is no incentive to online raid, so anyone who wants the highest chance to raid a tribe successfully would choose to wait for everyone to go to sleep and then raid. This is an unhealthy game mechanic and only benefits people who like unfair fights.)
- Removal of the decay timer (the decay timer is a way for people to tell if a tribe is offline by simply spyglassing their structures. This only encourages offline raids and lets people plan their attacks without any risk.)
- Fresh start for everyone (no character/dino/item transfers/)
- Unlocked TEK engrams for everyone (otherwise titans would be too strong, as the only way to counter them is TEK.)
