California State University, Fullerton has announced that in the Fall of 2019 they will be raising the price of parking passes to $285 dollars per semester, and again in the Fall of 2020 to $334 per semester. Parking passes currently cost $236 per semester. The university has failed to properly represent it's over 40,000 students. The justification given for the price increase is to fund a new parking structure, a much-needed addition, but not at the cost of students who may not be able to afford this. Furthermore, the university has failed to guarantee that they won't admit more students after it is built, thus defeating the purpose of added parking spaces. Supporting this petition does not mean we are against the addition of more parking spaces. It simply means we do not believe it should come at the expense of students. To support the students that this affects and protect your right to a voice on this campus please sign this petition against the parking permit price increase.
