I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! As we head into the weekend, I want to share an important update about the petition.

Just a few days ago, Q City Metro published an article titled “Let's remember what really matters at JCSU.” In it, JCSU alum Patrick Graham, alongside his Urban League colleague and fellow alum Talmadge Fair, raised serious concerns about the university’s sustainability under current leadership.

The article also highlighted former JCSU President Dorothy Yancy’s defense of her stewardship during her administration. Importantly, Graham emphasized that while open dialogue, transparency, fact-sharing, and clearheaded perspectives are essential, we must not lose sight of what truly matters: supporting our students.

Right now, many in our community hesitate to donate because JCSU is on probation for lack of financial oversight. But this holiday season, if you choose to give, please ensure your contributions go toward RESTRICTED funds. This guarantees your donation directly supports students and cannot be diverted elsewhere.

✅ One of the most impactful restricted funds you can support is the JCSU General Scholarships Fund. Your gift here goes directly to scholarships for students who need financial assistance to continue their education.

And just as important: please keep sharing and spreading the word about this petition. People are noticing, and every signature and share helps amplify our collective voice for accountability, transparency, and, most importantly, our students’ future.

Our students need us more than ever. By giving responsibly and raising awareness, we can continue to uplift them while also demanding accountability and transparency from leadership. Let’s show that even in challenging times, we stand united for the future of JCSU.
