Student Voice 101 : Stop Spitting

Nowadays people spit everywhere and they don’t know the risk of doing it. We spit in public areas like roads, terminals and railway station. It also disfigures streets, walls and public parks. Every time we spit we don’t realize that we are already spreading infectious diseases among people. Diseases like tuberculosis and flu are spreading rapidly in our country because of this pernicious practice. Some people aren’t aware that saliva contains bacteria. Through evaporation, they mix into the air and then enter into the respiratory system of a healthy person.

Our group aims to create a petition and Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/StudentVoice101-418739005195070/ to gather support and to inform everyone the risk of spitting in public. The scope of our project is to be able to reach the legislators, so they can immediately pass the House Bill No.299 or the anti-spitting act of 2013 in the Senate. We encourage everyone to support our campaign against public spitting by signing our petition in Change.org.
