As you will all be aware, The Tipputs Inn remains closed. Ruskin Mill continue to pursue the purchase of the pub. At this time they are readying themselves to re-submit a change of use application. Rather than appealing the decision that has already been refused by Stroud District Council.
Ruskin Mill have recently made numerous staffing redundancies and continue to struggle with student numbers. They refuse to comment on the current situation with the purchase of the pub.
The owners of the pub the Pheasant Pluckers chain have recently put one of their other trading businesses into liquidation. This isn't as exciting as it sounds as according to Companies House, just before this they started another business “TWO LITTLE PIGS LIMITED" on the 28/11/14 and it would appear they are just playing clever with some debt...
The gentleman who is trying to purchase the Tipputs Inn has now submitted his 3rd offer about 6 weeks ago. This was done through his agent and is well above the figure that the Pheasant Pluckers said they'd except and well over the market valuation for the pub!! The Pheasant Pluckers have not had the decency to reply to this offer!!
So in short. Ruskin Mill do not want to walk away from this deal and are paying well over the odds for the pub and the current owners don't want the pub to open as a pub again to challenge the other pubs in their chain. The Britannia, Fleece, Lodge and Fostons Ash are still owned by them. I won't be darkening any of those doors in the future...
