150 signatures update.

Dear supporters,
I wanted to start this update with the announcement that we now have 150 signatures on this petition. Thank you so much for your on-going support thus far.
As we rapidly approach the next objective goal of 200 signatures I would like to post an timeline/update of what has happened so far.
Prior to me creating this petition, on the 21st of April 2026, I emailed the then Minister for Victims The Hon. Anthony Carbines. I spoke about my personal story and how the gaps within our current legislation impacted my family.
Within the email that The Hon. Anthony Carbines had his letter attached, I would like to thank him for his empathy to my personal story. Alongside some pointers to support networks that my family may access.
I would also like to thank my local MP Anthony Cianflone for raising my issue to the attention of the previous Minister for Victims.
In the past 4 weeks the Victorian Government has introduced more bills that aim to protect victims during a trial. Which are all incredibly important to victim support and I hope to see enacted.

However, currently, there are still gaps' in our legislation for legal protections after a trial. Hence the purpose of this petition.
I ask that we all continue to push this petition out. Here's to the next goal of 200 signatures.
Thank you all again for supporting this cause.
