I’m sure you’ve already heard the news that McDonalds Australia have announced they will be phasing out singlenuse plastic straws from its Australia restaurants by 2020. Does anyone else feel underwhelmed? Considering Maccas UK & Ireland have successfully trialed the transition to paper straws, and completely removed plastic straws from all it’s 1250 stores, we think Maccas Australia should use this proven model to implement this necessary change sooner than 2020. After all, Grill’d made the announcement on the same day as Maccas that it would also remove singleuse plastic straws from its restaurants. And guess what - it done already! Nice one, Grill’d!
