Save The Glebe!

Save The Glebe!
The Issue
Proposals are being advanced for eight affordable dwellings to be built on Glebe Field, Cherington, an ancient ridge and furrow landscape that offers uninterrupted views from the road of St John the Baptist church, a Grade 1 listed monument. This field falls outside the village development boundary but within the designated Conservation Area, as well as being classified as AONB; it also forms a natural break between villages.
If this proposal is passed, it will alter the landscape forever and make a mockery of the planning constraints that exist to stop exactly this sort of development happening; once part of this field is allowed to be developed, there will be nothing to stop the rest of the field being built over.
Other sites have been considered in the feasibility study, but this has been assessed the cheapest option and therefore the 'best'.
Please support this petition to Stratford District Council, to ask them to reconsider alternative sites before it is too late.
