WATMOS: #Don’t StopThe Music !!
The Issue
Please support our petition to STOP - Leasehold Services Manager, Paul Davies - Interim Executive Director/Asset Manager & Consultant, Kul Bains - CEO of WATMOS and Christophe Christou of WATMOS Community Homes from closing the incredible local resource, The Music Boutique. Located in the world famous Lambeth Walk, London.
Paul Davies had been a major part in the dissemination of slander and defamation from the WATMOS office as well as other named senior staff. the Leaseholder Services Manager, had direct access to information and was party to the events that transpired and contributed to the involvement of Community Advocate and Oval Cllr IIssa and Florence Eshalomi, MP for Vauxhall.
To make false accusations regarding the rental account being in arrears against The Osho Collection & Gallery without checking the rental account does not come without it’s own negativity and maligning thought processes. It calls into question as to whether a Leasehold Services Manager that cannot correctly read a rent statement should still be in post.
There is also the issue of confidentiality as to the confidential concerns of an established business owner that were also divulged by a senior board member to Florence Eshalomi’s personal aide Mr IIssa now Lambeth Councillor IIssa
The current law on Data protection - Watmos have their own confidentiality clause in their code of conduct which they would have been well aware of- in this regard they were all flagrantly and seemingly purposefully breached due in no small part to the systemic structural racism and bias Watmos and many of its middle and senior management at that time held towards people of BAME origin. This in more detail has all been outlined in a formal complaint letter re: Professional incompetence, sent to the Watmos offices in January 2020.
The claim of that The Osho Gallery was in arrears was proven to be completely false. In July of 2019 an article was published in The South London Press verifying the account was in extreme credit!
The Music Boutique is housed within The Osho Collection & Gallery - a Cultural Heritage Archive (CHA).
We have been independently financed and self-sufficient for 2 decades. we have never had any form of any funding for what we do in all the 2 decades we have been at the Lambeth Walk. We felt that if we are of any value to the community the community would sustain what we do socially educationally and economically which had actually been the case up until the pandemic.
Post Pandemic update : We are still struggling especially with pandemic debt that has been completely out of our control due to the COVID 19 crisis.Even though hours before the Lockdown of 2020 people were trying to negotiate on our behalf with WATMOS to offer a nominal amount acceptable to them and in light of the impending COVID 19 crisis all efforts were met with complete intransigence.
But please also be aware that any services in kind would also be appreciated.
Thank you to all our supporters past present and future!
Please, follow us on Twitter: @themusicboutiq.
We will be posting all the relevant updates and evidence of the campaign so far, linked to all the people who have been involved in supporting us from the very beginning and can corroborate everything that has been stated above. Thank you to our now local Councillor IIssa and our now local MP Florence Eshalomi
Thank you to all the people who signed and left inspiring and beautiful comments from the original campaign to keep the Music Boutique a part of the local awesome diverse community that forms the historic Lambeth Walk
A special thank you to some of our most ardent supporters long before the campaign started, go out to John Howard and Marion Waite who sadly passed away last year 2021 (former WATMOS board member ) and immortalised in one of the Lambeth Walks Murial’s completed a few years ago.
