Upcoming Planning Board

Please come and show your support! It’s important to let the Planning Board know your concerns about traffic safety  and disruption, increased flooding risk, and to ask the applicant questions.  Tell your neighbors, family, and friends.  Our community needs all the support we can get. The next Planning Board meeting is Thursday, May 25th at 7:00 in the Municipal Building court room when the largest proposed warehouse will be reviewed.

Here is some additional background information on all the news pertaining to the warehouse construction, that will be useful for understanding the topics discussed at the planning board meeting. 

189/203 Homestead Road (the 2 largest of 7 proposed warehouses)

The application for 189/203 Homestead Road is for the approval of consolidating those 2 lots to build 2 warehouses totaling the size of NINE football fields as a 24/7 hour operation. There were many unknowns due to three NJDEP investigations, numerous changes to the plans, and unknown uses in the proposed warehouses. 

Weston Road 

At the Planning Board meeting on 03-23-23 for the proposed warehouse on Weston Road, the representatives of the Hearthstone community disagreed with the Applicant’s drainage plan. On 5-11-23, the traffic engineer presented data which was questioned by several audience members because it did not take into account new developments. Traffic safety (turning radius) was also questioned at Falcon Road and Sunnymead Road. The next meeting is on Thursday June 1st when more testimony and revised plans will be presented that residents can respond to.
