It is never easy when you attempt something so monumental as to tell governmental officials they are wrong. We are trying to do the right thing for our environmentally endangered Coastal Dune Lake, and our campaign has had its ups and downs. Currently, we will need to be vigilant and have people present at every BCC to make comments, on record, about our opposition to development at Eastern Lake Inet. Earlier reports sounded like we had won the day, but, in fact, the issue was only tabled and may come up at the next BCC meeting, or, possibly, any subsequent meetings. The next BCC meeting is Feb. 10, 2026 at the Courthouse Boardroom in DeFuniak Springs at 1:00pm. If you can be present at the meeting, we would really love your support and your comments. You will not be able to comment by Zoom anymore, but you can watch online by going to the Walton County website, https://www.mywaltonfl.gov/  and go to “meetings/video”. Let’s keep pushing to Save Eastern Lake.
