Congressional Round Table a "Go" Monday, 29 June @ 11 AM!

We've run into hiccups given all too typical chaos on Capitol Hill late last week, yet no fear--our round table is a go!   Join us if you can, and regardless, look for an update afterwards with plans for next steps.

Last night at an Army ball, not one, but two soldiers close to retirement at our table realized they are impacted given that their spouses have already hung up the uniform--and are providing Chapter 35 eligiblity to their child students.  They are ready to join the fight!   It can't hurt that their commanding general is dual with kids as well--and her husband is a retired JAG officer.

This should not be happening; it is reasonable for us to stand up for our own children's futures along with those around the world we've protected while on active duty.  One plus one equals TWO, especially in light of the 2008 precedential Osman v. Peake decision of the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims holding that a child may use eligibility through dad & mom concurrently.  There is no housing or book allowance with Chapter 35.  And veteran parents certainly should not lose compensation times two if the benefit is not being afforded properly--talk about rubbing salt in a wound.  And creating a serious violation of the Takings Clause of the 5th Amendment, something many of us have sworn to support and defend along with the rest of the Constitution.

Check out our website via the QR code here if you want more information, or take a look at the snapshot below for a sense of the damage in the worst of cases where both parents are deceased or rated 100%.  Our children are less than one in 1,000 of those using Chapter 35 by all indications; violating solid law like this only dishonors VA's core mission while wasting money to fight us--because fight we will using all legal means.  This MATTERS, especially as it's only gotten worse in the aftermath of the 7-2 loss VA experienced at the US Supreme Court  in the Rudisill GI Bill case in April 2024.

Stealing from dual eligible child students is unacceptable, Uncle Sam--thankfully we are a nation of LAW so there's a means to fix this.  You can help by continuing to pass the word that appeals and finding our small group is crucial; thanks!
