Stop Killing The Bees

Stop Killing The Bees

The Issue

Bee levels are going down rapidly in the past years. Without bees our food levels would declining very rapidly. One out of every three bites of food we eat was pollinated from bees. Scientists point to several causes behind the problem, including global warming, habitat loss, parasites and a class of bee killing insecticides known as neonicotinoids or neonics. When seeds are planted and treated with neonics the chemicals work their way into the pollen and nectar which the bees take that in and get poisoned and die. There are alot of things that you can do to try and save our bees and our food. One, planting bee friendly flowers and plants, weeds may be ok to keep, don't use chemicals and pesticides to treat your lawn or garden. Buy local, raw honey and just keep planting more and more plants. All sorts of fruit and vegetables are pollinated by honey bees, such as broccoli and squash, apples and almonds. Pollination is not just important for the food we eat directly, it's vital for the foraging crops, such as field beans and clover, used to feed the livestock we depend on for meat. And without meat, plants, vegetables, fruits we would have nothing to eat and we would quicly run out of food if the bees went extinct. That is why we need to help the bees even if they do sting, without them we would be in big trouble. Thank you!
