Please share this powerful campaign video (click here and retweet) that shows the need for urgent action to address the longest cancer treatment waiting times in NHS history. It only takes a few seconds and greatly amplifies the voice of cancer patients. If you don’t have Twitter, you can simply share this update and the petition on other platforms like Facebook to make a difference.
It means so much to our family that you are supporting this campaign. To make an even bigger impact we need your help. The latest NHS cancer data shows the longest ever waiting times for treatment for patients who actually have cancer. Nearly half of patients are facing unacceptable delays! There are multiple NHS cancer statistics out there, but some improvements in cancer diagnosis, which while welcome, are being confused for improvements in cancer treatment waits. We want to counter the ongoing narrative in Westminster, Whitehall, and the media that performance is improving for patients who actually have cancer when, in reality, it's not. We fear that if people think things are getting better (NHS data shows they are definitely not) they won’t take the action cancer patients need. Every week of delay matters for cancer patients. International research shows every 4 weeks of delay to starting treatment can reduce chances of survival by 10%.
The charity Radiotherapy UK has created this powerful 3-minute video to shed light on this issue. We need to get the word out and by sharing this video you will have a direct and immediate impact on our campaign.
Thank you for your support.
