Today we are handing in a letter to the Prime Minister signed by over 50 MPs calling for the Government to urgently tackle the cancer backlog. We started this campaign after we lost our daughter Kelly when her treatment was stopped in the first wave of COVID. Two years on the cancer crisis has not been solved and cancer experts warn there are 100,000 ‘missing’ cancer patients. These patients will not be getting the treatment they need and are losing valuable time. Every additional person who sends an email to their MP or shares a tweet makes the voice of cancer patients even stronger. No one should suffer needlessly because of delays to their cancer treatment #CatchUpWithCancer.
