This petition is about creating a hostel environment where students can feel safe, respected and comfortable, regardless of their year or seniority.
We believe that hostel discipline is important, but rules should be fair, reasonable and respectful of students' personal space.
In particular, students should not feel pressured to follow unnecessary senior-junior practices, and entering someone's room without knocking or permission should not be treated as acceptable simply because the person entering is a senior.
We are not asking for special treatment. We are asking for basic boundaries, mutual respect and fair rules for everyone.
