Wait... What? - REA Does a 180 - "Te-Kakano" Now Optional"

The REA threatened to cancel a license for 5-years if you didn't complete the training by 31/01/2023, but they've now decided to make it optional... 

By doing so, any new license issued to a person beginning a career from now, in a supposedly more 'progressive New Zealand', is excused from the Te-Kakano training... Wait, what?

Does that therefore, make Janet Dickson, her career, and her livelihood, just collateral damage from a Woke Social Experiment?
