We've reached a little over 200 signatures. Thanks to everyone. If you have a family member or a neighbor who hasn't signed the petition it would be helpful. A general rule of thumb is that only 1 person in 10 will respond to a call to action even if they agree with it.
The mayor and several of the contact council members have not responded to the claims in the petition yet.
There have been several more discussions with the mayor and one with the mayor and police chief. The council remains mute on the subject.
The police department has removed the request for the owner to identify the driver on the city affidavit (which you do not have to use) but still requests the owner to explain the situation WHICH IS NOT REQUIRED BY THE RCW. It appears to be a continued effort to intimidate the owner to pay.
Here is a blank affidavit that can be downloaded and submitted to the Pierce County Court that is also acceptable.

The city is having a study session on January 7 at 7 pm to modify the Edgewood Municipal Code. There is no public comment during this meeting. It doesn't appear the concerns that have been raised about the camera system are going to be discussed but it looks like just "housekeeping" regarding code numbers.
