IMPORTANT UPDATE!
We've received information from CM Welsch indicating that she plans to defer the zoning proposal at the May 6 Council meeting, postponing it until after the Housing and Infrastructure Study is released. However, until CM Welsch makes a public announcement, we are continuing to encourage neighbors to email Council members at councilmembers@nashville.gov, knock on doors, and stay engaged.
Neighbors who are able should still plan to attend the May 6 Council meeting. Our team will bring a copy of Ginny’s letter and be prepared to read it aloud if needed to ensure the deferral is officially on the record.
Additionally, we will be working with Nashville Notices to make sure this information reaches the Hispanic community — and importantly, that it is delivered without any pressure tactics.
We will still hold our community meeting on May 1 as planned, to continue discussing zoning from a community perspective.
Ideally, by then Ginny will have made a public statement, and we can provide updates and have a broader conversation around zoning. If she has not made an announcement by that time, we will proceed with the meeting as originally intended.
