ACTION NEEDED to stop the planning commission from approving yet another rezoning attempt, high density apartments, at 5100 Eden Ave:

  1. We need 5 people to give 3 min public comments via in-person or call-in at the Wednesday, July 26th planning commission opposing another rezoning attempt. Contact us at UnitedPWK@gmail for speaking points script and coaching.
  2. We need 50 people to send the commission a public comment in opposition to this most recent rezoning attempt by Wednesday, July 26th: https://www.bettertogetheredina.org/public-hearing-5100-eden-avenue?tool=survey_tool&tool_id=public-hearing-5100-eden-avenue#tool_tab

Why neighbors concerned about zoning should care about 5100 Eden Ave: If this rezoning passes, it will set yet another precedent for rezoning 5780 Lincoln Dr. Again, this is an ask to rezone to PUD, same request as 5780 Lincoln Dr, and it's also for a residential project. But instead of evaluating against planned residential standards the variance request is for the PUD standards. So there would be no requirement to discuss residential standards; thus the variance asks for this project are huge and it even dodges any commercial standards. If this doesn’t make sense to you, it’s because it doesn’t make sense. And completely defeats the purpose of zoning. Tell the planning commission to keep its commitment to zoning in Edina!
