Dear Friends and Neighbors,
To stop Scannell’s proposed mega-warehouse, we need everyone to show up at the special Easton Zoning Hearing, THURSDAY September 18th 6:00 pm Easton City Hall, 123 S 3rd St, Easton PA, floor 3
If you don’t walk or cycle, parking is available on the street and behind City Hall
The Easton Zoning Board will vote on the request for a special exception to override FEMA designated floodplain regulations. Agenda in image below.
THE ISSUES:
Scannell (developers for Easton Wood Ave Propco llc) want a special exception to:
Relocate an existing tributary that will daylight into the Bushkill Creek
Build a retention basin
Build a 40 foot wide access road
...… in a FEMA designated floodplain
Easton’s Special Exception Criteria:
Proposed improvements will not cause overcrowding of the land that would normally be expected from the proposals.
Improvements will not impair the supply of light and air to the adjacent properties.
These improvements will not burden the water, sewer, or other public facilities.
The proposed improvements will not substantially change the character of the surrounding neighborhood.
These improvements will not cause congestion in public streets.
The proposed improvements will not create a hazard to public health and safety.
The proposed improvements are suitable for the site.
The Easton Planning Commission already voted unanimously against giving a positive recommendation to the Zoning Board for this request on August 6, 2025

Want to object at the Zoning Hearing?
We, the coalition, will be represented collectively at zoning. Anyone who wants to personally object should come prepared with a short statement. You will need to provide your name and address, and state how this flood zone exception/construction could directly impact you. The hearing is for the floodplain special exception only, so all comments must deal directly with these issues.
If you need support with your statement please send an email!
This meeting is anticipated to be a long one again - but we’ve got you covered! Snacks and beverages will be available to coalition members. We will regroup at a local restaurant in walking distance after the meeting.
If you can’t attend in person, we are going to live-stream on Easton PA Post.
Please share information with your friends, neighbors, and on social media be sure to tag the coalition so we can share : )
Most importantly we need everyone to learn the issues, show up, and wear black!
