Hello friends and neighbors,

What an amazing turn out for the Easton planning board meeting on Wednesday! We showed a strong united front at the meeting and our seriousness was well-received.

Scannell was once again removed from the July 2 planning board agenda with only a one day notice - as usual. The planning board still chose to address us on the issues we presented. One of these issues was the developer needs a special exception to override FEMA designated floodplain regulations… this is not something we can afford environmentally or economically. Wetland locations and designations were also misrepresented by the developer and planning office, which will be readdressed.

A full recording of the July 2 meeting has not been released yet, a link will be shared on our website once the City of Easton has made it public, but you can watch our recording of July 2 public comments on our YouTube channel

Brian Myszkowski of Lehigh Valley News released a news article summarizing the meeting: “Stop the Wood Ave Warehouse coalition makes headway in fight against Easton Commerce Park”

We need volunteers to help pass out information and speak briefly with folks on the issues at Easton Heritage Day, Saturday July 12. Please sign up for a time slot HERE

For now we can take a breath - but we still need to stay focused.
Our next coalition meeting will be in person on Wednesday July 16, additional information to follow.

In Solidarity,
Colleen
