Just like the rest of the world I'm following the events in Turkey.  Human life is above all price, no matter if its war that is at fault or movement of tectonic plates.  I hope we see no more aftershocks or (God forbid) larger tectonic movement on the Anatolian Plate or the surrounding Eurasian, Arabian, African and Aegean plates (or anywhere else in the world).

As the world united in its help both Ukraine and Russia sent rescue teams and aid to Turkey.  We all pray for the stop of human tragedy in Turkey and now is the time to re-double our prayers and wishes for peace in the neighboring Ukraine.

The senseless  conflict has now truly become without a point.  The European Union has experienced surviving the cold of the winter with energy shortages.  Ukraine has also experienced the darkness of the winter night.  If the scenario of the dark and cold times is realized (possibly this late summer) we are better prepared as a result of this conflict.  All Northern powers with military industrial complexes have restarted production of most modern weaponry and tens of thousands of volunteers from the western world have become battle hardened.  And while the European Union is psychologically prepared for direct conflict, wide mobilization in the former Soviet Union will cause positive political change in both Ukraine and the Russian Federation in the years to come.  The North is ready to defend itself.

We have learned our lessons and have been prepared for the worst of realistically possible scenarios.  Let's show that we won't stand for loss of human life and limb due to man-made (in the greater sense of the word) causes and stop The War.
