In the last 12 months alone, Leicester City Centre (Castle Ward) recorded 3,523 violent and sexual offences (Police.uk data) — the highest‑risk crime category in the ward.

During the same period, there were 10 serious violent incidents, including 8 stabbings and 2 fatalities — one from a stabbing and one involving a woman who tragically died after being stamped on. According to StreetScan (Police.uk data), the highest concentration of crime occurs around the Shopping Area, the busiest part of the city centre.
