Yesterday we launched this petition with facts and figures. But let’s be honest for a moment.

A student was killed at 5pm.  

A teenager was stabbed at 1pm.

These aren’t statistics or “police deficits.” These are our children, our friends, our neighbours — attacked in broad daylight on the same streets we walk to buy lunch or catch a bus.

We’re told to “be careful,” but how can anyone be careful when violence is happening at lunchtime in the city centre

Meanwhile, the authorities are arguing about budgets while ordinary people are scared to walk through town. Enough is enough. We don’t want the next headline to be someone we love.
