More and bigger boats mean more stress on our marine life.
97% of manatees at Harbor Branch have boat prop scars.
Bigger boats mean bigger stresses,
traveling miles to an inlet,
over our remaining seagrass beds.
In fact, manatee mortality in Indian River County in 2022 was disproportionately due to boat impacts (per the FFWCC preliminary 2022 data, the majority of necropsied mature mortalities found in Indian River County in 2022 were watercraft-related).
