STOP the use of GENERATIVE AI
The Issue
A.I. in itself is a problem, more specifically GENERATIVE AI.
This type of A.I. uses up our water reservoirs to prevent them from overheating, it consumes gallons of water faster than the water cycle can catch up. A published journal Patterns by Alex de Vries-Gao, examined the environmental impact of AI systems. The study highlights that A.I. data centers are estimated to have used around 765 billion liters of water in 2025. The training, deploying and fine-tuning of these A.I. models can strain municipal water supplies and disrupt local ecosystems.
Not only does it affect water supply for hydro-relying cooling systems, but the demand of its electricity use leads to increased carbon dioxide emissions (MIT News, January 17, 2025). According to Noman Bashir, generative A.I. may use seven or eight times more energy than a typical computer workload.
In short, the use of generative A.I. slowly decays and destroy our own home. Though generative A.I. has proven its ability to be useful, minimal to no use of it is appreciated. Choose our home, choose us.
