Thank you for your ongoing support for bobcats across the State of Indiana! Please share the petition as much as possible: https://chng.it/V2CqjsHDWc

Also, please see this important message from Story Warren, Program Manager, Wildlife Protection, of the Humane Society:

This is a reminder that on January 16th, the Natural Resources Commission is holding its second public hearing regarding the proposed quota of 250 bobcats to be trapped and snared. If you didn’t submit a comment or speak during the last comment period, please attend and speak at this hearing to ask for a quota of ZERO!

When and where: 5:30 pm on January 16th in Franklin, Indiana, at the Johnson County Fairgrounds (Scott Hall), 250 Fairgrounds Street.

Can’t attend the hearing? Submit your written comment by emailing  abonar@nrc.in.gov or by submitting your comment on the NRC’s Rulemaking Docket under “Bobcat Amendments.”

If you have already submitted a comment or spoke at the November hearing, your comment has been counted and recorded for the record (thank you!) and you do not need to comment again. Instead, please try to get at least two friends who have not yet done so to speak or submit their comment! And please consider submitting a letter to the editor of a paper as well.

Whether you are writing your spoken testimony or a written comment, you can include these simple things: 1) your name and where you are from; 2) why you care about bobcats and/or oppose bobcat trapping; 3) a respectful ask for a bobcat trapping quota of zero.

If you need help with your testimony or have questions, we are happy to help you! Feel free to reach out to me or Sam Chapman (schapman@humanesociety.org), who will be in attendance at the hearing. Sam will also have buttons for attendees to wear to show their support for the bobcats! We want to pack the room for bobcats, so even if you won’t be speaking, you can attend and wear a bobcat button to show support!

Thank you for continuing to speak for Indiana’s bobcats!
