The university merger is a symptom of corporate-think and corporatisation. The insidious infiltration into universities by giant consulting firms, like Deloitte, KPMG, PwC...etc, influencing our programs, our way of doing business, and sitting on our university councils and boards erodes university values, is anti-intellectual, and creates a disconnect between management and students.

By analogy, exactly the same is happening to universities right across Australia, and the Adelaide merger is symptomatic of this phenomenon. It too will waste taxpayer dollars and line the pockets of change management consultants and the like.
