Public Summary - Voice of the Strata Owner and Renter

The above report is a summary of research from the Anchor Pointe Insurance Task Force and comments from the petition.

Thanks to all strata owners and renters who took the time to sign and comment. We've tried to include a cross section of comments from different cities.

Prior to Covid-19, this was a strong issue with every media outlet covering it. It was also picking up momentum with government. This all stalled because of the impact of Covid-19.

It's time to get it back to the forefront again.

Nothing has changed with strata insurance increases and challenges in getting coverage. We have seen similar stories of staggering increases to premiums and deductibles, buildings with no insurance or limited insurance. The insurance industry has warned, it's only going to get worse.

The current situation is costing strata owners thousands of dollars extra each year. As financial reality sets in because of the impact of Covid-19ovid-19, it is time for government to intervene and come up with creative solutions to help strata owners and, ultimately renters,i this perilous time.

Success in pushing this agenda forward was largely due to owners telling their real stories. Stories on the real costs and real risks associated with owning a strata home.
